A lesson well learned when I was writing for television and expected to go out and pitch stories based on anticipating the next trend. Thank God, I don’t have to do that anymore. I’m on the opinion that “If you write it they will come.” You can’t chase an audience. You must attract one.

Hi Kathy. So true. I know people write/create based on current trends, but I know that work does not endure. I think true artists take the “long view” and create based on what inspires them and touches them deeply. –Patti
