Congratulations to Brian Mihok for his win in the Long Shorts category at the Inwood Film Festival for “Three Trees (In Three Parts).” This film trio is based on flash fiction by Amber Sparks, Amy Rossi, and me and all three are awesome. The third piece, “The Cheerleader,”(at 7:18) is based on my story, “I Have Not Pushed Back My Cuticles with an Orange Stick Since the Nixon Administration” that was published in Monkeybicycle. I agree, Jayne. It’s stunning to see one’s words adapted into another form so beautifully. I love all three of these films and in awe of the acting, too. So glad to see Brian recognized for it!
