Huge thanks to Jude Higgins and team for inviting me to teach, read, and panel at the 3rd annual Flash Fiction Festival at Trinity College in Bristol, England, taking place June 28th-30th. This is a brilliant undertaking by those behind the renowned Bath Flash Fiction Award and includes flash fiction teachers from all over the world.
I’ll be teaching a pre-festival session called “Embracing Your Inner Wild: Creating Untamed Flash Fiction.” This 3 hour workshop is available to all–those who for whatever reason cannot attend the whole festival and of course to those who can as well!. It will run from 2-5 p.m. on Friday, June 28th. There will only be 20 spaces available and you may find more information and sign up HERE. [EDIT: This workshop is now sold out.]
I’ll also be teaching a 1/ 1/2 hr. session on “Writing a Flash Memoir,” which will be offered twice during the festival, as well as running a 30 minute warm-up session for the whole assembly on Saturday morning. Pleased also to take part in a “Flash Around the World” panel discussion and a reading by contributors of the Best Small Fictions and Best Microfiction anthologies. It’s going to be jam-packed and lots of fun. I’m eager to meet so many of my U.K. flash friends in person at last!
Sounds great. Wish I could go, but I’m blowing my financial ovaries on Italy. Hope you teach some of the same there.
Hi Jayne! Yes, very much the same material, but you’ll get it first, in May in Casperia! I can’t wait. xo
