“A Foreign Place” + Postcard + Interview up at Wigleaf

I’ve got a new story up at Wigleaf today. A friend described it as “odd, quiet, and sad” which sounds about right. There’s also an odd postcard and a brief interview up on the site. Wigleaf is celebrating its 10th year as a brilliant venue for flash fiction and the publisher of the yearly Wigleaf Top 50 (that generously and graciously does not include their own published stories). Kudos to Scott Garson and everyone involved with this great journal. I’ve always been very proud to have my stories number among its pages.

Here is an excerpt from “A Foreign Place”:

“He stares at the elevator doors. Leans in and mashes the button repeatedly. “Well, that’s it,” he says, addressing everyone present, “the system is collapsing all around us.”

The toddler waves his packet of goldfish in apparent agreement.”
